As a distance education student, the most important tool you will need to access and use is
Laulima. Laulima is the University of Hawai‘i’s official online course management
tool.
Laulima (the University of Hawai‘i's name for the open source,
Sakai Collaboration and Learning Software) is the official online
collaboration
and learning environment of the University of Hawai‘i system. Course
material, testing, and communication are mainly delivered through
Laulima for online classes. In
addition, some instructors will use Laulima to supplement instruction in
cable, ITV, and even face-to-face classes.
This means, you can access course content (syllabus, modules,
assignments, tests, grades, etc.) and communication tools (messages, discussion
boards, etc.) on Laulima to interact with your instructor and classmates almost 24
hours a day, 7 days a week (the site is down everyday from 3:00-4:00 a.m. for maintenance).
To log in to Laulima, you will need your UH Username and password
(the same information you use to log in to your UH email account and
MyUH).
Go to https://laulima.hawaii.edu/portal to log in to Laulima.

DECEMBER 2017: Laulima has been upgraded to Sakai version 11.4.
Please note that there have
been a few changes to Laulima. A general tutorial may greet you
when you log in to the site for the first time since the upgrade. You can also access the tutorial by clicking on your name in the upper right of the page, and selecting Tutorial. Also please make sure
you are familiar with the things that Laulima users should know.
If you're new to using Laulima, or it's been a while since you last used it for your classes it is recommended that you watch the following video.
