Welcome to our Investigative Research team and to our company, Ka Hui Ho'okolokolo.

We are excited that you have joined us as an intern. In the next six weeks, you will learn and apply research techniques,  prepare documents, and create and deliver presentations for our clients. These assignments may take you out of your comfort zone and push you to think in new ways; however, we are certain that the excitement of solving these challenges will more than make up for the difficulties you might encounter.

We expect each of you to make the clients' needs your priority by contributing to your team and producing quality, finished products on time. Ka Hui Ho'okolokolo has worked hard to develop a reputation for excellence, and we are currently the industry leader in investigative reporting.  Within the next five years, we hope to be the industry leader in the Pacific region, and you are an integral part of helping us reach that goal.

About Our Company
Ka Hui Ho'okolokolo investigates topics of interest to our clients, providing reliable, well-documented, and current information on issues related to business, government, education, and community. The company is  committed to personal and professional integrity, honesty, and open communication with our clients and the larger community.

Several interns have become full-time reporters at our company.  Last year, former intern Ben Ho was named as an Alicia Patterson Fellow for 2012, and we are proud of his efforts.  You, too, could find yourself in this role.

Your Role
Our company's reputation is spreading. As a result, within the last year, we have seen a surge in the number of new clients seeking our services. As an intern, you are is primarily responsible for providing research for a new documentary on Homelessness in Hawaii that has been commissioned by Governor Neil Abercrombie.  I  ask that you to build a good relationship with our contact person, Lynn Heirakuji, who is the vice-chair of the Hawaii Interagency Council on Homelessness. Pay attention to customer service skills, communicate often, and most importantly,  provide our client with finished products that are up to our standard of excellence.
