Major / Minor

  •  Declaration of Major - To be used to declare, add, change, drop a major within College of Social Sciences
    Obtain major advisor signature and send to Dean Hall, room 2 for approval and processing
    NOTE: Advisor signature is not necessary when dropping a major. 
  • Minor - To be used to add a minor
    Obtain approval from both major and minor advisor and return form to Dean Hall, room 2
  • NOTE: If multiple majors, minor forms are filed with primary college only

Registration

Refer to Academic Calendar for deadlines
For Outreach College courses (extension or Summer), check calendar
  • Add - To be used when registration on STAR GPS is not available.
    Obtain instructor approval before bringing form to ACCESS advising office.
    NOTE: If adding a course past the registration deadline, please submit a Late Add Petition along with this form.
  • Drop - To be used when registration on STAR GPS is not available.
    Obtain instructor approval.
    NOTE: If dropping a course during the “W” grade period, take form to the Registrar’s Office after obtaining instructor approval. If dropping to 0 credits during the “W” period, please contact ACCESS advising to schedule an appointment.
  • Audit - To be used to change grading option to audit before grading option deadline
    Check possible grading options on class availability
    Obtain instructor approval before bringing form to ACCESS advising office.
  • Credit Overload - To be used to increase maximum number of credits (current Undergrad maximum is 19 credits per semester)
    Minimum criteria for credit overload approval:
    Recent semester of 18 or more credits taken with a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher without any Incomplete grades issued or course withdrawals
    Petition needed for overload request of 24+ credits
  • Time Conflict - To be used when a course overlaps with another course.
    Need to obtain both instructor’s approvals along with an explanation of how student will make up missed work
  • Overseas Leave of Absence - To be used when a student attends a foreign institution.
    NOTE: Only UH Manoa recognized institutions will have the credits evaluated and possibly transferred over
  • Leave of Absence (LOA) - To be used when a student does not enroll in a particular semester(s).
    Will allow student to register as a continuing student when they return in the appropriate semester without having to reapply to UH
    NOTE: Students must be in good standing to qualify
  • Cancellation of Registration
    Login to MyUH to drop all your classes
    OR
    Complete a Cancellation of Registration form (to be used before the semester begins) and submit to the Records Office (QLCSS Room 10)
