HGE 2: Know themselves as learners

Criteria

1 - Emerging (beginning to meet the HGE)

2 - Developing (making good progress toward meeting the HGE)

3 - Proficient (meets the HGE)

4 - Exemplary (exceeds the HGE)

Identify Personal Learning Style
Student is not able to provide information about their learning style

With instruction and ongoing support from a teacher, the student can select assignments that are a fit for their learning style

With instruction and ongoing support from a teacher, the student can complete assignments that are outside of their learning style
Student can provide limited information about their learning style


With instruction, the student can select assignments that are a fit with their learning style





With instruction, the student can complete assignments that are outside of their learning style
Student can provide a basic explanation of his/her learning style

Student can  select from a menu of options, assignments that fit with their learning style 




Student can independently complete assignments that are outside of their learning style


Student can provide a detailed description of their learning style


Student is able to independently determine assignments that are a fit with their learning style




Student can design and complete assignments that are outside of their learning style
Demonstrate Initiative
When provided the option, the student will select a modified assignment that meets their learning style
With a prompt or instruction the student asks a teacher to modify an assignment to meet their learning style
Student takes the initiative to ask a teacher to modify an assignment to meet their learning styleStudent suggests to the teacher modifications to assignments to meet their learning style


Set Goals
With instruction and ongoing support the student can set realistic and measurable short term and long term goals

With instruction and ongoing support the student can make a plan to viably achieve these goals
With a prompt or instruction the student can set realistic and measurable short term and long term goals
