The THMS Pride Bands program is a comprehensive 6th through 8th grade experience where students learn the value of teamwork, self-accountability, creative self-expression, and joy through creating music. Students enter as beginners in 6th grade where they learn the basic skills of music reading and instrumental techniques.
Students do NOT need to have prior experience in music to be successful in band class!
Students in the Advanced Band learn more advanced musical skills and instrumental techniques. Their year culminates in a performance at State Assessment and a trip to Kings Dominion that includes a performance in the Festival of Music.
ALL students are welcome to join the THMS Pride Bands at any point!
