The Hardin County School District is a leader in the state in the area of alternative education. Hardin County Schools services approximately 300 students per day in non-traditional school settings.  The spectrum of the programs ranges from those for the academically gifted to those who are challenged either physically, emotionally, or academically.  Some students need alternate routes to reach their destination.  With this in mind, all of our Alternative Programs are constantly striving to meet the needs of all students in a positive and challenging way.

Goals for these programs include trying to meet unique needs of students, offering options that traditional schools can't, while at the same time trying to ensure a quality education.  These programs have a tremendous range in scope and purpose.  Several of these programs are residential facilities and most programs are operated by the Department of Juvenile Justice, DCBS or are privately owned.
Wes Blair serves as the Director for all alternative education offered by Hardin County Schools.
