2020 - 2021 Testing Calendar

COVID-19 protocols for in-school tests

  • Desks and chairs will be placed a minimum 6 feet apart to ensure compliance with the physical distancing requirements.

  • Students needing to visit the restroom will only be allowed to go one at a time and the bathrooms will be disinfected after each use.

  • The staff who are proctoring the exam will be spaced at least 6 feet from the other students in the room.

  • There will be no eating or drinking allowed during the test.

  • Students will maintain physical distancing during any breaks.

  • Students and staff will sanitize their hands each time when leaving or entering the classroom and before and after taking breaks.

  • HCIS staff who will be proctoring the test will also be closely monitoring the actions and behaviors of all the students to make sure they are following infection control guidelines as outlined by the CDC and the MDH.

Fall NWEA MAP Testing

    • Testing reading and math to establish current levels, confirm course placement, implement interventions and measure growth.

    • When the assessment indicates deficits in the subject area interventions are taken to bring the student closer to grade level.

    • Reading - all 9th and 10th grade level language arts students.

    • Math - all students enrolled in HCIS math courses at the teachers discretion.

ACT Testing

Seniors (Graduating in 2021) - Tuesday, October 20th, 2020

  • Sign up with Ms. Clark (mclark@harborcityschool.org) or 218-722-7574 x402

  • Seniors who are interested in taking the ACT at school this fall on Oct. 20, please contact Ms. Clark

  • The test will take approx 5.5-6 hours to complete and there is a section to fill out the day before or before the test starts (which would add approximately 30-45 minutes to complete). Make sure you understand the requirements before the week of the test.

Juniors (graduating in 2022) Tuesday, March 30, 2021

    • School offers a testing opportunity at the school during the school day

    • Cost: School pays for all 11th graders

MCA Testing

    • Reading - Window between March 8th, 2021 to May 7th, 2021. Specific test dates are contingent on COVID-19 situation.

      • All 10th grade students

    • Math - Window between March 8th, 2021 to May 7th, 2021. Specific test dates are contingent on COVID-19 situation.

      • All 11th graders. Seniors may be asked to test if they did not test in the spring.

    • Science - Window between March 8th, 2021 to May 7th, 2021. Specific test dates are contingent on COVID-19 situation.

      • Students taking biology in the 20-21 year.

AP Exams (Advanced Placement)

  • Calculus AB - 8am, Tuesday, May 4th, 2021

  • English Literature and Composition - 8am, Wednesday, May 5th, 2021

  • Environmental Science - 12 noon, Friday, May 14th, 2021

  • European History - 12 Noon, Friday, May 7th, 2021

  • Psychology - 12 noon, Tuesday, May 11th, 2021

  • United States History - 8am, Monday, May 6th, 2021
