September -January

In our daily routine we go over questions and answers to help the students with having simple conversations.  For example:

¿Cómo te llamas?                               Me llamo…Juan

¿Cuántos años tienes?                       Tengo diez años

¿Cuál es tu color favorito?                 Mi color favorito es rojo…

¿Cuando es tu cumpleaños?                Mi cumpleaños es el 12 de enero

                                                         Mi cumpleaños es enero 12

¿Cómo te sientes hoy ?                      Estoy cansado.

¿Dónde vives?                                    Vivo en Hanover.

¿Qué ropa llevas?                              Llevo los pantalones y la camisa.

¿Qué tiempo hace hoy?                     Hoy hace frío.

The students learned prepositions such as: on top, underneath, next to, etc; by watching another short video called, “Simon’s Cat in the Box” and then memorizing a song which includes each of the prepositions seen in the video.  Here is the link to the video if you would like to quiz your child on their prepositions!

Simon's Cat in the Box

Here is the song in both Spanish and English for your reference:

Izquierda/derecha (left/right)

Adelante/atrás (in front/behind)

Arriba/abajo (up/down)

Y algo más (and something else)

Encima/debajo (on top/underneath)

Adentro/afuera (inside/outside)

Cerca/lejos (near/far)

Y nada más…… and nothing else.

We go over feelings, prepositions, high frequency Spanish words, and focus daily on structures such as ¿Dónde está? (where is it?) ¿Cómo está? (how are you) and ¿Qué hace? (what is it doing? - in this case asking about Simon and what he is doing in the video). Using another video called, “Simon’s cat in a suitcase.”
