5th- 8th Grade Art

Grading Policy:

The students are graded in three different weighted categories.

• Participation 10%

Daily attendance and effort put forth each day.

• Class Work 20%

Notes, reflections, assessments, exercises/practice, etc.

• Final Projects 70%

Use a rubric to assess five different areas: Participation, Effort, Craftsmanship, Composition, and Concept

Students are not graded on what their artwork looks like but on the process it took to get to the finished product. 7^th & 8^th Grade students will receive a number grade. 5^th & 6^th Grade students will receive a letter grade.

E – Excellent: 90-100

S+ - Satisfactory plus: 80-89

S – Satisfactory: 70-79

S- - Satisfactory minus: 65-69

U – Unsatisfactory: >65
