PRESS RELEASE

SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMITS TO CONSERVING WATER

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Roxanne Wilson announces that the Hampstead School District will increase its efforts to conserve water in light of the current drought. Students and staff will be asked to be mindful in their water use, and conserve water as much as possible. The fields are not irrigated; therefore, water is not used in field maintenance. The lack of rain is having a negative effect on the sports fields. Dr. Wilson states, “The information we received from the state concerning the drought, coupled with a forecast reflecting no imminent sign of relief in the near future, requires us to be more aware. We support preserving our ground water supplies and encourage members of our community to do the same.”
