Award-Winning Schools

The citizens of Hampstead have many reasons to be proud of their schools. The elementary school and the middle school were both recognized in 2007 as "New Hampshire Schools of Excellence". In 2008, the middle school earned "Spotlight School" honors from the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS). Both schools continue to fulfill the Highly Qualified Teacher requirements and the ever-increasing student Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) benchmarks specified in federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. Year after year the Hampstead Central School (HCS) and the Hampstead Middle School (HMS) receive the Blue Ribbon Award for their community school volunteer programs and, on several occasions, individual teachers in varying fields have been recognized by the state and other organizations for their competence and contributions to education.
