HMS Action Plan Goals 2016-18

Goal #1 – Technology/Digital Citizenship and Creative Communication

Students will utilize effective digital citizenship skills in creating a minimum of one digital multi-media project throughout the year to be displayed in their eportfolio.  Measurement of achievement will be determined by a rubric to evaluate digital multimedia projects.

Goal #2 – Communication

HMS will increase communication between administration and staff regarding school and grade level practices and staff’s communication with parents regarding grade level expectations and student progress. Measurement of growth will be determined by a spring 2017 survey.

Goal #3 – STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)

All teachers will engage in the development of one or more STEAM lesson(s) that encourage creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication to solve real-world problems employing the HMS STEAM design model.  Achievement of this goal will be determined by a rubric that measures planning, delivery, and self-reflection of the lesson.

GOAL #4 - English Language Arts Goal

Students will understand, use, and demonstrate writing across the curriculum with 80% of all students meeting proficiency as measured by the HMS common writing rubric.
