To earn a high school diploma from West Town Academy, students need:

  • 4 English
  • 3 Math
  • 2 Science
  • 1 US History
  • 1 Social Science
  • 1 PE
  • 1 Art, music, foreign language, or vocational
  • 5 Electives
- 40 hours of community service
- Maintain 2.0 GPA
- Pass the Illinois and US Constitution test
- Meet Illinois Civics education requirements 
- Meet Consumer Education requirements
- Complete the Career Exploration class (In the class they must complete the following and possibly other additional information: Write a resume, compose a college essay, complete the FASFA  (Federal Application for Student Financial Aid) application, complete 3 college applications or 3 job applications, have 2 college acceptance letters or 2 job acceptance letters, apply for 3 scholarships)
- Take the SAT exam
- Show improvement in reading and mathematics on the STAR test (Online test)
- Attend for 1 semester minimum

Students who meet the above requirements will be awarded a high school diploma and graduate from West Town Academy. Students who have completed four consecutive quarters at West Town Academy will be eligible to become West Town Academy’s Valedictorian or Salutatorian
