 Thank you for your support!

Supply Drives (Year-Round)
– Make a financial donation (any time during the school year) so that PTSA can fill teacher "wish lists" for classroom supplies, or drop off any supplies such as spiral notebooks, 3-ring binders, paper, pencils, highlighters, etc. at any time during the school year!

Holiday Hope Fund – Donations to the PTSA help to purchase food and gift cards for MV families in need during the holidays.

Food Pantry– Monte Vista proudly operates an onsite food bank. This program is fully funded by donations and provides food and necessities to needy families in collaboration with the San Diego Food Bank.

Monarch Fund – PTSA provides financial assistance to support school programs that help students succeed (such as Unity Days and Student Achievement Celebrations).

Staff Appreciation – Your donations help fund the PTSA welcome back luncheon for teachers and staff and the end-of-year thank you breakfast for teachers and staff.

Football Ticket SalesVolunteers are needed to sell home game tickets to raise funds for Monte Vista programs

Football Game Concessions – PTSA manages the snack bar by overseeing and scheduling clubs/teams to operate the snack bar during home football games. PTSA uses concessions revenue to purchase snack bar inventory and distributes funds to team/clubs at the end of the season.

Pride Packages – This twice-a-year fundraiser provides parents the opportunity to treat their students to a delicious lunch and heartfelt message to encourage and support students during finals week. Volunteers are needed to assemble the care packages and to help distribute them at school.

Staff AppreciationVolunteers are needed to help set up, serve food, and clean up at the PTSA welcome back luncheon for teachers and staff in August and the end-of-year thank you breakfast for teachers and staff in June.

School-Wide Programs – PTSA fundraises to promote programs and incentives benefiting the majority of all students at all grade levels, or supports a specific need that can help students or families overcome challenges preventing them from becoming a successful student. PTSA supports programs that encourage the development of leadership skills (such as Unity Days) and programs that address student safety (such as Red Ribbon Week). Booster clubs and school clubs raise money for specific causes or school groups/clubs/teams.

Pride Packages – This twice-a-year fundraiser provides parents the opportunity to treat their students to a delicious lunch and heartfelt message to encourage and support students during finals week. Proceeds fund PTSA programs and scholarships.

Senior Scholarships – PTSA raises funds to provide scholarships to graduating seniors for continuing education. A PTSA committee reviews applications and awards scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 depending on the amount raised that year.

Reflections Art Contest PTSA encourages students to submit entries in fine arts, photography, creative writing, music composition, dance, and film. Students work on their entries independently (this is not a class assignment) demonstrating their artistic leadership and creativity. Entries are judged and move on to the Foothills Council PTA level of judging and are recognized at the Grossmont Union High School Governing Board meeting in the spring.

Grad Night
– PTSA helps the school organize this special Senior activity to promote celebrating Grad Night in a safe, fun, and memorable way! PTSA support involves scheduling, ticket sales, and arranging for bus transportation to take seniors on a special trip to a theme park
.

School Enhancements – PTSA identifies a school item, program or need to contribute to at the end of each school year.

Become an Informed Parent PTSA meetings are attended by 3 staff members who share what the school is doing to help all students achieve and excel. School construction projects are discussed. There is also an opportunity to give input regarding ways the school can improve.

Help Make Decisions PTSA meetings are where business is conducted and decisions are made. All are welcome at PTSA meetings. PTSA members are eligible to vote.

Hall of Fame Dinner – PTSA partners with the school to hold an annual Hall of Fame dinner to celebrate the accomplishments of Monte Vista alumni and a former staff member. Five alumni and one staff member are inducted each year. Inductees are introduced at the Homecoming football game and are acknowledged at a dinner in their honor on the following night. This important event helps keep alumni connected to the school and creates opportunities for alumni to give back, serve as a mentor, or create an alumni network to support students.
