Algebra 2 Course Expections

Daily Requirements:

  • Pencil
  • Paper &Notebook
  • Calculator – a TI-83 Plus or a TI-84 Plus is strongly recommended.
  • Chromebook

Grade Breakdown:

Tests – 50%

Quizzes – 10%

Assignments – 20%

Final – 20%

Gradescale:

A – 90-100%

B – 80-89%

C – 70-79%

D – 60-69%

F – 0-59%

Daily Assignments and Points:

  • Assignments will only be accepted if completed.
  • All work must be shown to receive credit.
  • Completed late work will be accepted up until the day of the chapter test.

Tutoring/Extra Help:

Tutoring is available outside of class. The Math Tutoring Center is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Check with your teachers for other tutoring options and availability.

Discipline:

Please abide by the Monte Vista policies for dress codes, absences, and tardiness. It is also important that the classroom

environment is conducive to learning, one that is respectful and safe. If you behave in a manner that destroys a student’s

right to learn or the teacher’s right to teach, the following actions will be taken:

1st offense: verbal warning

2nd offense: documentation, call home

3rd offense: referral, call home

4th offense: referral, drop from class

Specific Rules:

1. Follow directions.

2. Be in your seat with sharpened pencils, homework out, and working on the warm up before class begins.

3. No cell phones, iPods, CD players, and other electronics.

4. Show respect to other people.

5. Use appropriate language in the classroom.

6. Take care of personal business before you arrive to class including cosmetics, perfume, and lotions.

7. Stay in your seat until dismissed by me, not the bell.

CAASPP Incentive:

If you Meet or Exceed Standards on the CAASPP, the second semester grade will be raised by 5%

OR

If you Meet or Exceed Standards an F grade will be changed to a D for second semester.
