REGISTRATION FOR 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR
January 16, 2017 - Letter mailed to incoming 9th grades students/parents about Online Registration and School Choice.
January 23, 2017 to February 24, 2017 - School Choice Enrollment window OPEN (Online)
March 6, 2017 - Notification of Acceptance will be sent via the parent portal.
March 25, 2017 (Saturday) - Registration at Valhalla for incoming 9th grade students from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
March 27, 2017 - April 7, 2017 - Valhalla administration will follow up with families whose transfer was approved as well as sibling transfer confirmation.
Online Registration Process:
Families can begin the ONLINE registration process after Monday, January 23, 2017. Detailed instructions can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Please have the following materials accessible before you begin:
STEP 1: Go to www.guhsd.net or click on the image below to begin the process:
- Parent Email Address (create a FREE account through Google)
- Birth Certificate & Immunization Record (Must be downloadable)
STEP 2: You will receive an email from GUHSD Ed Tech Services with instructions for creating your Parent Campus Portal Account. Once your account is created, you can begin completing the online registration form.
*Complete the next step (Step 3) ONLY if you do not live within the Valhalla High School attendance boundary.
STEP 3: Through your Parent Campus Portal Account select Valhalla as your school of choice. Must be selected by the deadline: February 24, 2017.
Notification of Acceptance will be sent to the Parent Campus Portal Account on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Need Help with Online Registration?
- COMPUTER LAB w/STAFF: A staffed computer lab will be available in Valhalla's Main Office, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Monday, January 23rd through February 24th, 2017. Evening hours will also be available on Wednesday nights in February from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Transfers through "School Choice" Enrollment:
Requests for transfers based on “Guaranteed Choice” boundary transitional areas and based on sibling’s current attendance will be submitted during the School Choice enrollment process using Campus Portal. Families must commit during the School Choice process by the deadline (February 24, 2017). All students must register online first. Once they have registered online, and the registration is processed, parents will receive an email to create a Campus Portal account where they may request another school during the School Choice Enrollment window.
Sibling transfer option must be declared during this window. Only students who currently have a sibling attending a GUHSD school in grades 9-11 are eligible for the sibling transfer option.
Notice will be posted to Campus Portal regarding School Choice acceptances on March 6, 2017. All students who receive their first choice option will automatically be accepted to the new school. Only those families who did not receive their first choice will need to confirm their acceptance of
their second or third choice within Campus Portal.

ORANGE NATION SHOWCASE- Wednesday, February 1, 2017
Valhalla High School is holding their annual Orange Nation Showcase on Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 p.m. Opening activities will begin in the gymnasium. Meet teachers, counselors, administration and staff. Pick up information on elective offerings, clubs and organizations, athletics and more. At 7:00 p.m. a panel of students, parents and teachers will answer questions about honors and Advanced Placement courses. Download a flyer below with additional details.
CAMPUS TOURS - Wednesdays, February 8 & 15, 2017
Campus tours will be available and led by student leaders for all families of prospective students on Wednesday, February 8th and Wednesday, February 15. Please join us at any time in the Library between the hours of 6:00-7:30 p.m. Take a peek inside Valhalla's unique and newly modernized round building and learn about the history of Valhalla as your are guided around campus.
FRESHMEN ORIENTATION - Monday, August 14, 2017
The purpose of Freshmen Orientation is to make the transition from middle school to high school positive. Seniors and juniors will be serving as leaders and mentors to the freshmen. Large and small group activities are designed to address students needs and concerns in an enjoyable manner. The event starts at 7:50 a.m. and runs until 12:00 noon. All freshmen who attend will get a copy of their schedule.
