Monday, June 17th, 2019 B Day

Today is the last day for classes,exams start tomorrow. Schedules were sent home the middle of May and are posted on the bulletin board across from the HS office. Room assignments will be posted in the lobby. Please remember to bring writing implements with  you and that no backpacks or cell phones are allowed in the testing rooms.


If you are a junior who has expressed interest in taking AP Microeconomics next fall, you must see Mr. Golden during your advisory today.  


The following students need to meet 4th and 5th period in room 314 to take the earth science lab exam:

Ivan Tapia, Sam Rivera, Trinity Creighton, Jude Swann, Maycol Santos ,and Carlos DeLeon Campos


Anyone interested in playing football for the 2019 Porters please attend the meeting on Friday, June 21st after school in the gym. This includes Junior high, Junior varsity, and Varsity athletes!!


Attention seniors!  If you are interested in singing for graduation go to Mrs Cabral’s room after the announcements during the advisory period today.  

Attention Acappella!  There will be rehearsal after school today!


Reminder that lockers need to be cleaned out today and that all textbooks are to be returned to the appropriate teacher. ALL elevators keys must be returned to the business office.



Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 A DAY

Attention senior graduation singers!  The rehearsal has been changed to Monday morning during advisory.  If you are planning on singing the senior song at graduation go to Mrs Cabral’s room on Monday morning during advisory.  You must be there to be able to perform at graduation. See Emelyn Azurdia with any questions.


To all boys interested in playing JV or Varsity Soccer in the Fall.  There will be a brief informational meeting during Advisory this morning in Room 311 (Mr. D's room).  


If you are a girl in grades 7 through 11 and are interested in playing girls soccer in the fall... JH, JV or Varsity please see Mr. Golden during your advisory period for information and details.  


For students entering grade 7 through those entering grade 12, if you are interested in participating on the golf team, there will be a brief meeting during advisory tomorrow morning in room 209.  If you would just like to practice and learn about golf, you are welcome to attend. Thank-you. Mr. Haas

To the amazing skeleton crew from School of Rock, fantastic job performing on Sunday. Please remember to turn into the HS office the costume pieces by Thursday!


For anyone interested in cheering for the 2019 football season, there will be a meeting in Mrs. Dlhopolsky’s room 212 on Thursday June 13th during advisory. A sign-up sheet can also be found hanging outside of her room. Stop down and sign up!!


There will be a pickup field hockey game today on the turf at Southold at 3 pm


Reminder that registration forms for Summer Driver’s Education are due in the HS Office today for students attending Greenport. Registration will be open to students outside of Greenport starting on Wednesday.


Attention seniors!  Anyone interested in singing the “class of 2018 Medley” by anthem lights with the senior chorus members at Graduation must come to rehearsal on Thursday during advisory in Mrs Cabral’s room.  Talk to Emelyn Azurdia with any questions you may have. If you are not at rehearsal on Thursday during the Advisory period you will not be able to perform.

Registration forms for Summer Driver’s Education are available in the HS Office. Forms

and payment are due by June 12th.  A minimum of 12 registered students is needed in order for classes to be held this summer.


To all boys interested in playing JV or Varsity Soccer in the Fall.  There will be a brief informational meeting on Wednesday, June 12th during Advisory in Room 311 (Mr. D's room).  


Reminder to the cast members from School of Rock. Rehearsal TODAY immediately after school in the  small gym, unless the auditorium stage is clear of chairs. Teeny awards are this Sunday at Southold HS.  Report time is 12 noon for the run through, please bring your costumes and a change of clothes for the Red Carpet that starts at 1:30 pm.


Any student scheduled for AP Literature Course for 2019-2020 school year, learn more about the course curriculum, expectations assessments, and summer assignments this morning in room 213 with Mr. Conti.


Attention all girls in grades 8 - 11 who are interested in playing soccer next year.  Mr. Golden will be holding a meeting during Advisory on Wednesday, June 12.

This morning during advisory all those who wish to play JV or Varsity Field Hockey next year need to report to Mrs. Baker's room for a brief meeting.

Football strength and conditioning will be going on Tuesdays/ Thursday from 3:30- 5:00 pm for all football players that will be in the 7th grade-12th grade next school year..

Coach Hines, also will be allowing any other athlete that wants to join strength and conditions workouts for their upcoming sports can join as long as their coach says it’s ok to do so..

Attention Middle School Chorus!  There is a combined rehearsal today during 4th period.  This is a mandatory rehearsal. Go to the auditorium 4th period for your final concert rehearsal.  


Attention Seniors in acappella and chorus!  Be at the concert at 6 pm tonight dressed and ready to perform!  There is a final practice in the auditorium before the concert!

Congratulations to the Acappella Group and Elementary Show Choir for their amazing performances at the Music is the Parks competition on Friday.  We won 1st place in the Acappella Performance category, as well as, Overall winners of all HS performing groups. The Elementary Show Choir won 1st place Show Choir, as well as, Over all winners of all elementary performing groups!  It was a huge success for Greenport and we are so proud of our hard working and talented music students! Our 4 trophies will be proudly displayed in the lobby this week for all to see!


Attention Senior Chorus and Acappella members.  There is a mandatory rehearsal with Mrs. Cabral during advisory today.  Please meet in her room.


Attention Acappella!  There will be a final rehearsal today after school from 3-4 pm.  Everyone must attend.


Congratulations also go out to to Melody Silie and Christina Tsaveras who performed vocal All-State auditions this weekend.


Attention Greenport Senior Athletes who are attending tonight's Senior Athletic Dinner.

The dinner will take tonight at 6:00pm at the Townsend Manor Inn.  Please arrive with your family no later than 6:00pm. Dress appropriately.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Dinizio in the athletic department.

There will be a brief preseason meeting for Volleyball on Tuesday, June 4th immediately after school in the big gym.  Anyone who cannot make it must see Coach Fioretti prior to the meeting.

Today is the last day for all students taking the Global History II Regents to attend a review session. If will be after school today in room 321 from from 2:45 to 4 pm.


All 8th grade students are to report directly to the cafeteria 1st thing Monday Morning for the written portion of the NYS Science Exam.

All Students taking the NYS Global History II Regents  are to report directly to the gym 1st thing Monday morning.

Both groups need to be prompt and bring the proper writing implements with you to complete the exam.


Early Morning breakfast will be held in the Home Ec room and Mrs. Ladalia’s 6th grade class will meet in the elementary library.
