Worship at Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd is known for the work it does with the community.  It is our worship that prepares us for active involvement in the world.  We gather weekly on Sunday mornings.  As we worship, God strengthens us through the scriptures and the meal of Holy Communion so that we can serve the world in many ways: as teachers, doctors, farmers, parents, volunteers and in many other Christian vocations.

The "Change to Change the World" offering during the month of September will be given to Flood Relief in Vernon County. One half of the amount will be given to Bethel Butik (Westby) as it is the place folks will go for housing/utility assistance, household items, bedding, and so much more. The other half is sent to WCCU for the designated flood relief fund which will be distributed through Emergency Management. Your on-line giving and your checks given to Good Shepherd should make note of "Flood Relief."  Thank you for helping our neighbors in need!

Relay For Life/Sole Burner 2018

Individuals and teams from the Viroqua area will be participating in the Sole Burner fundraiser for the American Cancer Society on September 22nd in Chaseburg, WI.  Several members of Good Shepherd have joined Danny’s Dream Team, including Bonnie Rath, Karen McAllister and Martha Hoffland.  They would be pleased if other members of Good Shepherd would join the team.  And they welcome receiving donations to the American Cancer Society in support of their efforts.  (This team was formed by Trisha in memory of her father, Danny Lepke, who died before he could fulfill his dream of reopening the Sylvan Glen Restaurant near Stoddard.)

You are invited to attend the Sole Burner on Saturday, September 22nd at the Chaseburg Village Park.  It begins with registration for members and food sales for attendees at 11:00 a.m.  Best Ever Chicken, soups and more will be served.  There will be auctions, prize drawings, raffles, kids’ activities and live music going on until 6 p.m.  At 4:00 p.m. the Walk begins with the Opening Ceremony with cancer survivors leading the walk.  At 6:30 the Luminaria Ceremony begins and the Why I Fight Back Video will be shown.  The memorable closing ceremony wraps up the 2018 Sole Burner at 7:30 p.m.

If you are able to contribute to the fight to eliminate cancer, your donation can be made by mail or in person to a team member, or sent to the church office, or you can use the information below and give directly at the American Cancer Society site.

Go to the following site and simply click “donate” to make a donation.

Thank you so much for your support and your donations.

Together we will finish the fight to eliminate cancer!
