The Board will support the district and school efforts to help Goldendale students meet the accountability requirements of the State Standards for Washington State and the National Standards of No Child Left Behind.
The Board will build on the success of school/community relations through ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and community regarding education in Goldendale School District.
Provide language learning for students who do not speak English as their first language; encourage cultural awareness throughout the district of students who are new to the area and/or who have racial, ethnic, and/or learning challenges.
The Board will concentrate on policy and update/review for the benefit of the district. Policies will support academic achievement, equitable opportunity for all students, security for students and staff and visitors, and dignity for all students and staff.
The Board believes in lifelong learning, and the members of the Board will seek learning opportunities for their own personal and professional growth.
