American Cuisine

American cuisine reflects the many different cultures and ethnicity in the United States. During the migration from Europe to America many immigrants brought foreign ingredients and recipes developing diversity in food preparation.  The 19th and the 20th centuries are considered to be the years of expansion for the U.S.’s various styles and the creation of many new foods. Between the 1890’s and the 1920’s, the manufacturing of food became more adamant than home cooking. Different cooking styles have been traded between Native American’s and the European’s, but in the 19th century they were blended together forming the foundation of American cuisine. The most unique characteristic of American cuisine is the fusion of multiple ethnic and regional approaches of cooking styles. Today there are many networks that offer help and guides for cooking.
