Welcome to the story of my journey with the Spanish language!

Being the child of an Italian father, I learned to appreciate the Italian language and culture as a child. As a high school student, I attended Regente Feijó High School in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil where I lived with six different Brazilian families. I learned to speak Portuguese very well and fell in love with everything Brazilian.  When I returned to the U.S., I studied Spanish at the University of Colorado at Denver and spent my Sophomore year of college living in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico while attending the University of Veracruz there. I have since taught four years of Jr-Sr high Spanish and English in Colorado where I met my husband and my children were born. I taught seven years grades 3-12 Spanish in Kansas and this is my twenty-second year teaching Spanish at Gresham High School in Oregon.   I received my Master's of Teaching Spanish from Portland State University in 1999 and National Board Certification to teach Spanish in 2006. My husband, children and former students have joined or followed me in my travels to Mexico and South America. I have Multiple Sclerosis and use a wheel chair so my travels are limited now, but my favorite thing in life is still to share my passion for languages and culture with my students as it opens up the world to them and changes their lives. Thank you for joining me in this journey.
