Meet Mrs Barnett

Hi, my name is Nena Barnett and this is my eighteenth year teaching special education. I am highly qualified and starting my twelfth year at Greer Middle School. I received my teaching degree in Elementary Education in 2000 and a Learning Disabled/Special Education degree in 2001 from Southern Wesleyan University. I earned a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2006. I have also completed classes from USC to get my Middle Level certification in English, Math, Science, & Social Studies.

My husband, Randy & I moved to Greer in the spring of 2014 and are regular attenders at Simpsonville First Baptist Church. We have 6 children, 5 of whom are married. We have 13 grandchildren, 6 boys & 7 girls ranging in ages from 2 years old to 14 years old. We are very family oriented and love spending quality time together. One of our sons-in-law is in Kuwait at this time with the Army Reserves. We are hoping to have him return in July.

I am excited about working at Greer Middle School with the best group of people in all of Greenville County Schools. This year I will be working with 6th graders in Math co-taught class and 2nd/5th periods Literacy Lab classes. I will also co-teach in 2 separate English classes.

My planning is 11:40 – 1:25. You can reach me by calling my voicemail 864/355-5852 and leaving a message or emailing me at I will return your call or email within a 24 hour period. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. I know it will be the best one ever!!
