Welcome

Dear Berea High School Family;

I am grateful to all of you who support Berea High School. It is a pleasure to be the principal of such a great school. Our faculty, staff, students and community have demonstrated why Berea High School is such a special place. Each year we prove that we are one of the best kept secrets in Greenville County.

 As we move forward into the 2018-2019 school year, we need to take time to reflect on the past. We need to think about our accomplishments and setbacks, major and minor. We have received yet another Bronze Medal from US News and World Reports. This makes a total of four in eight years. These bronze medals are awarded in their annual tops highs schools listing. We also received notification that we made the Newsweek list of top 500 High Schools. We were ranked based on a weighted calculation which takes at-risk factors into consideration. In addition, Berea High School ranks in the top of school like ours data. When compared to other school with similar demographics, Berea excels.

Not only have we excelled academically, our extra-curricular programs have also done well. Our Band placed high in all competitions that they entered. Our Theatre program received an excellent award, our Air Force JROTC program continues to be the envy of others. Our Athletic teams not only made the playoffs 90% of the time, they competed at a high level. With our boys soccer repeating as state champions, going undefeated two consecutive years.

We are committed to continued growth academically. Now is the time to set goals, and to remember why we do what we do, to make our students futures are brighter. This school year we will be focusing on student centered instruction, integration of technology, and authentic literacy across the curriculum. Our faculty has been working hard to prepare our students for the challenges that face them now, and in the future.

 With your help and the tireless dedication of our faculty and staff, we will provide a bright and prosperous future for all of our students. It is a great time to be a Berea Bulldog! We hope you have a great year.

Sincerely,

Mike Noel, Principal
