Welcome to Berea High School's Freshman Academy!

Welcome to the Freshman Academy.  The goal of each and every one of the teachers in the Freshman Academy is to make sure that your first year of high school is a successful one.  Each of the teachers has committed to making sure that you feel safe and that you will have the resources needed to succeed.

The Freshman Academy is specifically designed to create an environment that will support freshmen as they enter high school and help prepare them for the rigorous classroom activities required in the upper grades. It also aims to help students define and achieve their academic goals by preparing them for graduation, college, and careers after high school. A team of dedicated teachers use similar course work, collaborative teaching strategies, and high expectations to ensure students experience a smooth transition from middle school to high school.

The Freshman Success course emphasizes the personal and academic habits needed for academic success including: study skills, communication, use of school resources, and much more. It also focuses on the types of skills needed in today’s work force.
