Histamine Testing

Total IgE testing for histamine and IgA can elucidate gastrointestinal problems related to histamine. Elevated IgE screens for hyperimmune activity which indicates further laboratory studies.

Genomic testing for Diamine oxidase can confirm this. We look at monamine oxidases which are responsible for the removal of methyl groups from histamine molecule and acetylation, which is responsible for the production of the less reactive acetyl histamine. We also consider histaminase, histamine methyltransferase and histamine aldehyde modulation.
