Winter Concert Information

posted Dec 14, 2017, 3:16 PM by Jennifer Jeutter

Dear Woodview Families,

You and your family and friends are invited to attend the Woodview Winter Concert on Friday, December 22nd.  The program will be held in the GHS Auditorium and will begin at 1:00 p.m. The program lasts approximately thirty to forty-five minutes.

All of the 5K-5th Grade Woodview children will participate in the concert with their homerooms and multiple grade levels. Our theme, Winter Around the World! is sure to delight as you hear winter classics and much more!

We are excited that this year’s concert will be in the GHS auditorium but also acknowledge the parking challenge this brings with the ongoing facilities construction, renovations, and remodeling at the site. With the limited spaces that are available due to our building project we will have to show flexibility. We have developed parking options and solutions to try to minimize any inconvenience to our families.

Since we will be shuttling our students over on school buses an opportunity exists for 15-20 parents per grade level to park on site at WES and ride along with our students to the high school. This would then allow those parents to return to WES on the bus and have the option to participate in winter parties after the concert. If you are interested in this option please fill out the google form to get on our list. We will need to limit this to the first 15-20 parents per grade level. Sign-up here!

We will also have access to limited parking spaces in front of the District Office and in the Form and Fitness parking lot. We would like to save these for grandmas and grandpas or those needing to park close and walk. If you are in need of one of these options please email me or Mrs. Glaza to request a parking pass (mmcmahon@grafton.k12.wi.us or lglaza@grafton.k12.wi.us)

Our final option will be for parents to park in the east Kapco parking lot and be shuttled to the high school. Please see the map attached.

As a school we always strive for proper concert etiquette.  In class we discuss the proper way an audience should behave and how our school wide goals, Woodview Way, match this.  Remember to turn cell phones off so as not to distract the performers and fellow audience members. Please help us teach appropriate audience behavior for our first concert of the year.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Michael McMahon

Please assist your child to dress appropriately for the outdoor weather.  Woodview students go outside for all recesses.  To keep them comfortable, and safe, please consider sending them with heavier coats, gloves and hats.

We have received many kids' winter hats, mittens/gloves, scarves, coats, boots & snow pants, all in nice conditions. If your family is in need of assistance this winter season, please contact Sheila Binder at sbinder@grafton.k12.wi.us or 262-376-5787.  Thank you!
