Here are a few important updates and reminders from our perspective as a school:
  • Continue using the "back drive" for drop-off and pick-up. We are very appreciative of the patience and courtesy that many of our family members are demonstrating, as there is a high volume of cars working to use this area before and after school.

  • Please do not move cones when they are blocking the back drive from 8:25am-3:15pm as students may be using this area for recess or classroom activities (e.g. physical education class crossing to the grass area, etc.).

  • Continue to drive slowly, use your blinkers, check your mirrors and blind spots, and take your time.

  • Students should depart and board from the passenger (curb side) of vehicles at all times to avoid exposure to traffic from the left lane.

  • *** Adults should stay in vehicles when dropping-off and picking-up on the back drive for a number of reasons. ***
    • Pedestrians who are outside of vehicles on the driver's side are at a higher risk of collision with cars using the passing lane on the left.
    • Unattended cars may cause needless time delays due to an unoccupied car not being able to pull forward immediately after the drop-off or pick-up.
    • A time delay occurs when drivers get out of the vehicle to attend to children and the vehicle is unable to pull forward immediately after drop-off or pick-up.

  • To be sensitive and responsive to the needs of children and families, if your child requires a bit more support or time in getting in/out of a vehicle, please use an available parking space in the nearby parking lot or the surrounding street areas to accomplish this.

Again, our school is very thankful for your help and support as we continue into the school year. We will keep refining and improving upon the efficiency of our procedures to meet the safety needs of our students, families, and staff members.
