Unit 1: Healthy Habits

For the first unit, the students will look at developing healthy habits into their day to day life.  Topics will include helping teens improve self-esteem, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, achieving their goals, getting along with their parents, and much more. By providing the teens with habits based on principles, it will give them the tools needed to build a strong foundation for the rest of their life.

Unit Objectives

At the end of the unit the students will be able to:

1.Identify and explain healthy habits that lead to a successful lifestyle
2.Assess their habits and compare and contrast them to the benefits of practicing healthy habits
3.Identify their mission statement and analyze the influence their personal values have on their individual health
4.Develop a plan to apply healthy habits in their life
5.Identify and explain proper communication skills when interacting with other people
6.Analyze the individual responsibility they have in their life to enhance their health
