Art Room News

The Art Room is proud to announce that student art work is now available for viewing by all on the Tuftonboro Central School website.  Click on the Art tab to see a slideshow of student work.  I am proud of the great work our students produce and am committed to sharing it with the community.

This winter has taken a toll on activities in the art room, here have been quite a few snow days on Mondays, and we are trying to catch up.

Kindergarten have been working on mixing colors and are masters at making green, orange and violet with the primary colors.  They are presently working on some beautiful rainbow fish using crayons and watercolor paints.

First Graders are working on Jungle paintings in the style of Henry Rousseau, creating great scenes with bright colors and realistic jungle animals.

Second Grade is learning about the proportions of people. They are creating a collage of themselves playing in the snow, with all their snow gear on.

Third Grade is studying Emily Carr and learning to make realistic trees using bold colors.

Fourth Grade has just completed some beautiful water lily paintings in the style of Claude Monet.

Fifth Grade made some amazing plaster masks showcasing how much they learned through their American Indian project, they are on display in the Media Center.

Sixth Grade have been working on the covers for their yearbook, they did a great job. They have just begun a unit on printmaking.

In addition to all this activity, all grades are working on their art for the Original Works Fundraiser which will be going home at the beginning of April.
