Mr. Brian Bloomer- 5th Grade

November Newsletter Fifth Grade

Your child has been invited to attend fifth grade’s Math Club to be held on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 a.m. Math Club will provide us an opportunity to strengthen your child’s skills, pre-teach concepts and to introduce challenges that your child will find interesting and motivating. Math Club will be held in a less formal setting than regular class. Children who attend the club will not be required to do math homework that evening. If your child has an older or younger sibling, feel free to drop them off at the same time.

Homework is assigned each night Monday through Thursday. Please check your child’s Planner and folder each day. The Planner outlines what is required for the evening and the folder contains your mail and completed work.  Though homework is not required on the weekends, I encourage your child to read each day for pleasure. We know those who read each day for sustained periods of time succeed best in school.

This is a very busy time of year for all of us. If your child is having difficulties completing assigned homework due to afternoon activities or family events, simply have your child write me a note explaining their problem and they should have you sign the note. I want homework time to be productive but reasonably painless.

I’m looking forward to meeting with you on Nov. 8th, 9th, and 10th for Parent-Teacher Conferences. All of you have been scheduled a time for those days. If you did not receive my note, please let me know.

Again, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me at home at 569-0613.
