Family and Consumer Science

Family and Consumer Science Education includes instructional programs, services, and activities that prepare youth for adult living through instruction in the areas of food and nutrition, individual and family health, consumer education, family living and parenthood education, child development and guidance, clothing and textiles. The department‘s goal is that each student‘s achievement is aligned with GWRSD Vision, KRHS Mission Statement and the NH Frameworks. The Family and Consumer Science Department, through the courses offered, demonstrate a commitment to the school‘s mission statement of an equitable and flexible environment for all members of our learning community. All courses will challenge students and educators to be critical and creative thinkers, to act respectfully, and to reach their fullest potential.
This department offers a comprehensive selection of elective courses for students of all grade and ability levels. All courses are a quarter in length and students receive a ½ credit for successful completion of each course.
