Admissions

Visiting the school

Making a decision about a school for your daughter or son is very important and not one to be taken lightly. We encourage parents who are interested in Gospel Oak to make arrangements with the office at the time of application to join one of the regular guided tours of the school that is taken around by the headteacher (see school calendar for dates and times of these).

Applications to Reception

Children born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 will be considered for admission into our reception year group in September 2019.

Applications to Gospel Oak reception classes are governed by the criteria set down by Camden in the booklet ' Starting School in Camden'. A copy can be obtained from either the school office or Camden’s Children, Schools and Families. Parents need to read the booklet carefully and then return the application form to CSF by 15th January 2019. This can be done via their website, www.eadmissions.org.uk, (application window opens from 1st September to 15th January). Parents will be notified of the outcome of applications in mid April 2019

Applications to Nursery

Applications to Gospel Oak nursery are governed by the criteria set down by Camden in 'Starting School'. A copy can be obtained either from the school office or Camden’s Children, Schools and Families. Parents need to read the booklet carefully and then return the application form to the school office with a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

Nationally, all 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours per week of free nursery education from the beginning of the term following their third birthday. You may be eligible for an additional 15 hours if you meet certain criteria, please click here for more information.

Children born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016 will be considered for September 2019 Nursery admission.

An application form can be downloaded here or obtained from the school office and should be returned to the school by 9th February 2019. Parents will be informed of the outcome in mid April 2019.

Applications made during the School Year

Admissions from Nursery to Year 6 are dealt with by the school. You can download the application form or collect one from the office. You will need to bring it back with your child’s birth certificate and your council tax bill or tenancy agreement as proof of address.

Gospel Oak is a popular school so, once you have submitted the form if a place is not available in your selected year group you can ask for your child to be placed on a waiting list. If you wish to transfer your child from another local primary school, out of courtesy you are asked to inform the other school of your intention. There is a specific section on the application form for the current school to sign. You may also be asked to meet with the headteacher to discuss your reasons for seeking a transfer.
