Single Sign On and Sites - Interim Link

After GA+, if you access sites after you have logged into your corporate Internet, but before you have accessed any other Google Apps with the current browser session, you get an interim screen displayed that requires you to click on the "Sign in to" link before you get to Sites. This can be confusing.
  • Workaround: Created a special URL at Seagate using a redirect server to avoid this interim screen (used whenever you are placing Sites links in non-Google apps/locations.
Inability to embed non-standard links on a Google Sites page.

Google does not let you embed any links that are not http:// ; https:// or ftp:// in a Google Site. We use Lotus Notes at Seagate and the links to docs and dbs in Lotus Notes are formatted as Notes:// which caused a lot of problems for people attempting to use Lotus Notes links.
  • Workaround: Created a redirection service at another seagate.com address. This service is used to redirect URLs that applications might not otherwise be able to handle effectively.
