Each year people in the greater Golden area can subscribe to have a flag put at their home five times a year. (see the projects page for information)
The Kiwanis Club owns the flags and the Scouts from Troop 130 in Golden
(Methodist Church) put out the flags. The program began in 2001 with 32 residences. We now have over 250 residential subscribers.
To subscribe, please see the flag subscription info under "projects"
in the navigation bar on the left.

There are an additional 60 on Old Golden Road which the Scouts put out on Memorial Day and July 4th.

There are 13 flags at Parfet Park (10th and Washington) which are put out on all holidays by a Kiwanis member.
In 1924 the Kiwanis Club cleaned up the city dump to create a park named for their first president, George Washington Parfet. Mr. Parfet lived in Golden with his wife Mattie and their seven sons, and was active in the Kiwanis Club, the Masons, and other area businesses. His main business was clay mining, running the largest such business in Jefferson County.
