A little about myself: I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor in the Arts in 2001 (English major, Spanish minor). Upon graduation, I taught in Coopersville Public Schools' adult education program for two years. While there, I taught GED, ELL, alternative education/credit recovery, and high school completion classes. I also worked in their migrant program, teaching ELL's in migrant camps around Coopersville.
This is my fifteenth year at Lee Middle/High School; I teach 7th English Language Arts. I taught high school ELA (grades 9-12) for 7 years, and I also taught Spanish for a couple of those years. I graduated in the spring of 2009 with my Masters in Education (with an emphasis in literature) from Grand Valley State University.
I'm a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan, a Michigan football fanatic, a country music enthusiast, and a voracious reader. You can see what I'm reading on GoodReads.
This year, I will be using Google Classroom as the primary source of communication with students.
