Battle of the Books Final Braun Tournament
Our six battle teams had a final battle on March 23 to determine the top three teams that would be advancing to the interschool tournament on March 31. All 6 teams battled well. Congratulations to The Sour Patch Kids, The Dream Team and The Ready to Readers who emerged as our top teams. Good Luck at the Final Battle Tournament.

Overdrive Comes to Henry Braun
Exciting news! Our grade 6-8 students now have access to a collection of ebooks and audiobooks on their personal devices through our school's subscription to Overdrive.

Thank you to all of the students and families who visited out book fair! Judging from the buzz in and around the library, everyone enjoyed seeing Scholastic's newest books! We were able to put many new titles into our library as well. I appreciated all of students' suggestions! Hopefully, they will be ready for reading soon!

Many thanks to all of the families who participated in our first Book Swap! A big thank you to Mrs. Anderson and Ms. Stuart who helped set things up... there was a huge number of books!
Thanks, as well to families who donated books. All of our Kindergarten children went home with a new book and teachers were able to add several books to their classroom libraries. There was a small amount of books left and they now have a new home with families that need them! A great success!

A huge thank you to all of the families who visited the book fair! Not only is it a good way to put books in your child's own personal library but it helps us put new titles in our library here at school. We have been able to put over $2000.00 of new books in our library from our book fair commission. Thank you!

Read to the End Zone! Score a Reading Touchdown!
Rider Reading begins! Set a reading goal for yourself. Read at home and keep track of the minutes. Each time you reach your personal goal, you advance another 10 yards towards the goal line. When you score a touchdown, bring your log to Mrs. Wills for a treat and to enter our prize draw. Add a football to the library bulletin board. How many touchdowns will we score?

It was exciting to have so many authors visit the library on the same day! The morning Kindergarten class created books about their families on our family literacy night last week. Today was the "book launch" when we got to see them all put together. It was fun to see friends reading together and learning about each others' families! Great reading K's! You are good readers!
Mrs. McDougall's Gr. 3 Arctic Research
Students were learning about life in different communities and were interested in learning more about wildlife that lives in the Arctic. They asked questions, practiced writing jot notes to gather their information and learned how to use Kidspiration to present what they learned. Check out some of their work Gr. 3 Arctc Research:
