The School Health Partnership (SHP) Nurse is a registered nurse who supports schools, students and families with training, questions, planning and concerns related to student’s physical health needs while attending school.
Health support could include:
Staff education on health conditions – general or student specific
Development of Health Plans of Care and emergency plans for students
Supporting families and schools when health care needs change
Assisting with Program Planning (upon request)
Working with other SHP Nurses across Nova Scotia to establish provincial policies and procedures.
The SHP Nurse requires a Referral for Nursing Services in TIENET and a Consent Form completed by the parents to begin working with a student. Please see attachment : Using TIENET for SHP Registered Nursing Services and for accessing the Consent form for Nursing Services.
