The Autism Consultant and members of the ASD lead team provide classroom based support for teachers and support staff within the CBVRSB.
Autism support may be considered at any stage of a student’s learning development. The need for ASD support may be initiated by the school’s program planning team, which may include principals, classroom teachers, specialist teachers,
parents/guardians and/or other professionals. To initiate ASD support, an ASD support referral form must be completed in TIENET and forwarded to the ASD Consultant. Once a referral has been placed, and a student is receiving Autism support (visible under student's Services Data in Tienet) another Referral is not necessary. The Autism consultant or Behaviour Support Teacher for Autism may be contacted by email or phone. ASD support is provided in the school setting by either the Autism consultant or the Behaviour Support Teacher for Autism.
