Coaching: This is Matt's 23rd year coaching the Spartans, where his specialty is the offensive line and special teams.
Playing days: Matt played for the University of Iowa, becoming a captain his senior year. After anchoring the Hawkeyes' line, Matt spent part of the 1996 season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Running Backs/Assistant Outside Linebackers
Coaching: Coach Pieper return for his 26th season overall. Bob was the head coach from 1997-2000 before giving up his head coaching duties to become Athletic Director. Bob took over the head coaching duties again in 2004-2018. Bob lead the Spartans to their first playoff appearances in two decades in 1999, and the Spartans have continued that success with 10 Conference championships, and 10 Playoff appearances since 1999. Bob was the head football coach at Crete-Monee High School from 1991-1996.
Playing days: Bob played defensive back at Illinois Benedictine College. He starred in football, wrestling and baseball at Rich South High School.

Coaching: Coach "Geo" returns for his 15th campaign with the Spartans. He will coordinate the defense this year again, in addition to focusing on the defensive line and assisting with the offensive linemen. He is also the Head Varsity Lacrosse coach.
Playing days:A four-year starter at Augustana College, Justine earned all-conference and all-regional honors. Also played on the Augustana Rugby Club. Played football, wrestling and lacrosse through high school at GBN. Graduated in 2000.

Favorite pastimes: Spending time with my family at the zoo, and playing the Nintendo Wii. Many moonlit nights in front of the fire pit, as the children play in the yard.
Personal: Justin and wife Ali have a loving relationship with their boys, Cheydon, Everett and Declan, as well as two guinea pigs, Valentine and Michaelangelo.

Coaching: This is Justin's eighth year coaching football at GBN. He also serves as the head sophomore baseball coach.
Playing days: Justin played varsity football for GBN in 2003-2004 and was a two-way starter his senior year for the '04 state quarterfinal team. He also played baseball at GBN and went on to play four years of college baseball at DePauw University where he set the single-season and career record for stolen bases and hit by pitches.

Favorite pastimes: Outside of his coaching responsibilities, Justin enjoys being outdoors on a hike, on the lake, in the mountains, or playing various recreational sports, including 12" softball, and spending time with his family and friends. Prior to joining the GBN coaching staff, Justin spent three years as the Executive Producer of Sports Programming and co-host of the high school football wrap-up show "Preps Plus Chicago" for WGN Radio and was the voice of the UIC Flames.

Coaching: Coach Brandt returns for a fifteenth year with the Spartans. Ernie also served as Varsity Defensive Coordinator for Saint Joseph High School in Westchester.
Playing days: Ernie was a multi-sport athlete at Loyola Academy.

Coaching: This is Coach Haggis' ninth year at GBN. He is also the Head Boys Frosh/Soph Lacrosse Coach.
Playing days: Two-year starting QB at GBN in 1999-2000, two-time All-Conference selection, School record 23 TD passes in career, accounted for 21 total TDs during senior season (15 passing/6 rushing), overall record as starter 17-4, and 2001 co-MVP, State track qualifier in 4x1 and 4x2 relays, two-time All-Conference selection.

Coaching: This is John’s second year of coaching at GBN, 35th overall. He coached at all levels at various schools.
Playing days: John played football, wrestling, and baseball at Lutheran High School East in Detroit, Michigan. He played football for four years at Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan. He played free safety and was captain his senior year, leading the team in tackles because his team wasn’t very good.

Scott played football and baseball at Proviso West High School. He began teaching at GBN in 1991 and joined the football staff in 1994. Scott and wife Indra are the proud parents of four teens, two of whom were four-year Spartan football players.
