Mr. Walstrom has dedicated 22 years to public education. He currently serves as Principal of Portland, CT Valley View Elementary School.
Families and staff describe Mr. Walstrom as a caring, respected, and approachable leader who builds strong relationships and works to ensure every child receives the support they need. He believes that successful schools are built on connection and shared purpose. In his words: “Strong relationships, clarity of purpose, and shared accountability are essential” for a school community to truly succeed.

Glastonbury Parks & Recreation offers a variety of programs in our school buildings during elementary school short Wednesdays (September to November and March to June). Any child who is five years of age on or before September 1, 2026, and who meets all residency requirements is eligible to begin kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year.
