Instructional Coaching Roles
Instructional Coaching Roles
- Learning Facilitator: "Teaching It" Actively participates in professional learning with teachers. Plans, delivers, follows up, and assesses professional development.
- Classroom Coach: “Doing It” In the classroom; Observing, modeling lessons, co-teaching, collecting data. Interactions that take place with students present.
- Instructional Planner: “What & How” Assists teachers to use formative assessment to guide instructional planning, recommends instructional strategies appropriate for learner needs, and differentiate instruction. Plans with teachers for focused instruction based on data.
- Data Analyst: Works with Data in preparation to collaborate with staff to ensure that student achievement data drives instructional decisions.
- Learner: Participates in personal learning, to keep current, and have the skills necessary to be an instructional leader in the school. Participates in professional development for own learning.
- Resource Provider: Works to create, gather or copying resources that are directly aligned with a teacher’s goal, building goal or district goal. This work directly supports a teacher’s implementation of a new strategy or instructional practice.
- Other: Completes other tasks not clearly defined above as requested by principal and/or curriculum team.
