Summer Math Ideas

- Math is all around us. When we estimate and calculate the price of an object. When we plan an outing. And even when we are cooking. Make everyday activities into math activities.

- Work on a few pages in the "Student Math Activities Book" that is being sent home with every fifth grader.

- Practice Multiplication and Division facts to keep them fresh (and they will still be heavily needed for middle school math).

- Play board games that require math; Yahtzee, Monopoly, Cribbage, Uno are all games you may already own. Teacher stores carry great math games at reasonable prices.

- Use your public library to gather math books, activity workbooks, or videos. Library Math Web Site.

- Use the Internet to gather math worksheets, activites, or to play online math games.

- Use this website to review fifth grade math (go to homework help).
