Ms. Lovely's Portal

Hello!

My name is Rachel Lovely.  I teach 7th Grade Language Arts at Gahanna Middle School South.  This is my second year teaching in Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools and I love it so much.  I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Reading Education.  I love traveling, cooking, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends.  I can't wait to begin the 2016-2017 school year and to meet the students in my class.

June 2016 Ohio State University / Royal Shakespeare Company Partnership:

This summer I traveled to Stratford Upon Avon, England (Shakespeare's birth place) with the Ohio State University to study Dramatic Inquiry with the Royal Shakespeare Company.  We studied intensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company's Education Associate Practitioner to learn approaches to teaching Shakespeare.  We worked with directors, met the actors of A Midsummer Night's Dream, went on a backstage tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theater, and attended three performances (Dr. Faustus, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Alchemist).  I had a blast and am super pumped to incorporate new methods in my teaching this year.

Here are some pictures from the week in England!
