2015-16 Transition Class

The staff and students of our class are excited to be able to share ourselves with you on this portal. Our students range in age from approximately 18 to 22. Our focus is on transitioning from high school to adult life. That may include work, volunteering in the community or participating in some type of day programming to remain active members of society. We take pride in the fact that our students' learning takes place in a variety of community settings. We have established many community partners for whom we are very grateful. In the 2015-16 school year we will open our new Coffee Shop, The Mane Cup.  The opportunities for job training at this site are extremely beneficial to our students and delicious too!  In addition, we will continue our overnight component where the students will spend one night away from their parents three times per school year.  They will be caring for themselves by shopping for their food items, preparing their dinner, making their beds, and participating in an activity in the community.  The following morning they will be getting themselves up and getting themselves ready for their school day.  It is an absolutely amazing experience for all of them and we are incredibly excited to continue the program.   If you have any questions regarding our program or what we do, please do not hesitate to call me at 479-1469.
