Course Information:

ACCOUNTING
If you are considering a career in business, or hope to run your own business someday, this class is a MUST!  Students will learn basic accounting concepts and principles, including the steps of the accounting transaction analysis, journalizing, and posting. Students will learn to analyze and create financial statements including the income statement and balance sheet. Students will also learn tax basics.


INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FUNDAMENTALS (Info Tech)
* This is a required class for all students.

Info Tech is a foundations course designed to provide students with a functional, introductory knowledge in the areas of IT. These areas, as defined by the Ohio Department of Education, include: Network Systems, Interactive Multimedia Design, Programming and Software Development/Applications, and Information Services and Support.  It is important to realize that we will be covering topics on an introductory level.


COMPUTER CONCEPTS (CSCI 1101)
* Students must meet Columbus State's guidelines for admission before enrolling in this class.
* CSCI 1101 may be used to satisfy the Info Tech graduation requirement.

Computer Concepts (CSCI 1101) is a dual-enrollment course taught at GLHS, by GLHS staff, however you will have the unique opportunity to receive high school AND college credit upon successful completion of the course.

Computer Concepts (CSCI 1101) is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of computer concepts and the essential skills necessary for work and communication in today’s society. Topics include social networking, computer security, safety, ethics, privacy, operating systems and utility programs, communications and networks, input, output, system units, storage, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.


JAVA PROGRAMMING
* Students must successfully complete "Info Tech" before enrolling in this class.

Java Programming is an introductory class in the basics of programming computers. The course covers many of the programming topics as well as the problem solving strategies needed to program. This is not an AP course, but it is difficult in nature requiring good logical thinking skills and daily work as the course builds.

“S” Club is an all-girls club focusing on SERVICE for women and children. We work in conjunction with the international volunteer organization, Soroptimist, to provide service to the school and the community.

GLHS Lions Locker:
Lions Locker is an anonymous pantry located at Gahanna Lincoln High School. We provide food, toiletries, school supplies, and other needed items to students at Gahanna Jefferson Schools.

If you, or someone you know, is in need of items, you can contact any teacher, counselor, administrator or staff member and they will refer you to us.

Lions Locker was founded in the Spring of 2016 and is run by staff members Marcie Aiello, Ryan Callihan and Tracy Dyckman.

OPEN LAB TIMES:
* Before school from 7:10-7:30am in Rooms H108, H109 or H111. No pass or appointment needed.
* During your study hall or lunch period - see me for a pass.
 
TARDY POLICY:
* 1st tardy = warning
* 2nd Tardy = 20 minute lunch detention

* 3rd Tardy = two 20 minute lunch detentions

Any subsequent tardies will be referred to your administrator
 
CLASS CUT POLICY:
* Class cuts are NOT tolerated. You will be immediately referred to your administrator and receive ZEROS for any work completed, or due, in class that day.
