Course Information:

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FUNDAMENTALS (Info Tech)

Info Tech is a foundations course designed to provide students with a functional, introductory knowledge in the areas of IT. These areas, as defined by the Ohio Department of Education, include: Network Systems, Interactive Multimedia Design, Programming and Software Development/Applications, and Information Services and Support.  It is important to realize that we will be covering topics on an introductory level.


PROGRAMMING
* Students must successfully complete "Info Tech" before enrolling in this class.

Programming is an introductory class in the basics of programming computers. The course covers many of the programming topics as well as the problem solving strategies needed to program. This is not an AP course, but it is difficult in nature requiring good logical thinking skills and daily work as the course builds.


COMPUTER & MOBILE APPLICATIONS
* Students must successfully complete "Programming" before enrolling in this class.

Students will learn to create applications for mobile devices using a variety of commercial and open source software. They will install these applications, modify them, and develop customer service skills to handle user issues. Knowledge and skills related to customer service in professional offices, small businesses, departments, work groups, and corporate information services will be addressed.


FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

If you are considering a career in business, or hope to run your own business someday, this class is a MUST!  Students will learn basic accounting concepts and principles, including the steps of the accounting transaction analysis, journalizing, and posting. Students will learn to analyze and create financial statements including the income statement and balance sheet. Students will also learn tax basics.


PERSONAL FINANCE
* This course satisfies the "Financial Literacy" graduation requirement.

The objective of this course is to prepare students to successfully manage money based on their goals and desires.  This course will increase a student’s awareness of financial matters.  Students will learn basic money management strategies including budgeting and properly handling credit.  Students will be introduced to all types of investments classification that are necessary to achieve a balanced portfolio.  This class is real world oriented and students will complete several projects including a reality-based budget project and stock market simulation.  This course will help prepare students for the financial decisions they will face during and after high school.

“S” Club is an all-girls club focusing on SERVICE for women and children. We work in conjunction with the international volunteer organization, Soroptimist, to provide service to the school and the community.

GLHS Lions Locker:
Lions Locker is an anonymous pantry located at Gahanna Lincoln High School. We provide food, toiletries, school supplies, and other needed items to students at Gahanna Jefferson Schools.

If you, or someone you know, is in need of items, you can contact any teacher, counselor, administrator or staff member and they will refer you to us.

Lions Locker was founded in the Spring of 2016 and is run by staff members Marcie Aiello, Ryan Callihan and Tracy Dyckman.

OPEN LAB TIMES:
* Before school from 7:10-7:30am in Room H111. No pass or appointment needed.
* During your study hall or lunch period - see me for a pass.
 
TARDY POLICY:
* 1st tardy = warning
* 2nd Tardy = 20 minute lunch detention

* 3rd Tardy = two 20 minute lunch detentions

Any subsequent tardies will be referred to your administrator
 
CLASS CUT POLICY:
* Class cuts are NOT tolerated. You will be immediately referred to your administrator and receive ZEROS for any work completed, or due, in class that day.
