Special Programs- RRCC Credit

Concurrent Enrollment through Red Rocks Community College

High School Students have the unique opportunity to earn community college credit through a concurrent enrollment program with Red Rocks Community College while they are in high school.

To participate in the innovative program, students must do the following:

  1. Apply online at Red Rocks Community College, www.rrcc.edu. You will need to supply parent information, as well as student information, including social security numbers and driver’s license numbers. During the application process, be sure to mark "YES" in response to the College Opportunity Fund.
  2. Take the ACCUPLACER, a college placement exam, unless you have a qualifying SAT score. This exam is administered by our School Counselor, Kim Cobb.
  3. Complete the Concurrent Enrollment Form and the Parent/Student Payment Agreement Form and return to the counselor.  The Forms are attached below.

COST: If a student is eligible to take college level classes Gilpin County School will pay for the courses during the fall and spring semesters only. The student/parent is responsible for paying for the fees for each course. In the unfortunate event that a student earns an F, the student/parent will be responsible for reimbursing the school the tuition. The student will not be allowed to register for additional Red Rocks courses until the tuition has been paid, in addition school reports cards, diplomas and transcripts will be held until the tuition has been paid.

DEADLINES: Preregistration and the Accuplacer must be taken and scores returned to the school in May for registration for the fall semester, and October for the spring semester.

MORE INFORMATION: To get exact deadlines for registration or learn more about concurrent enrollment, please email Kim Cobb.
