CCMS Exam Exemption Policy

Dear parents and students,

Clear Creek Middle School receives a score from the state of Georgia that is the called the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). This score is comprised of academic achievement and attendance rates. The academic achievement rating is based on the scores that students receive on the Georgia Milestones tests. The attendance rating is based on the percent of students who are missing fewer than 6 days (excused or unexcused days) of school.

The school is offering the following incentive to our students to increase attendance at Clear Creek Middle School:

Exam Exemption:

Students are eligible to exempt semester exams only if they:

1)       Are passing the class with no more than 2 excused or unexcused absences

2)       Have no more than four unexcused tardies or unexcused early check outs

3)       Have no lunch charges or media center fines

·         The exemption form must be completed and returned in order to exempt any exam.

·         Teacher, student and parent signatures are required.

·         It is the expectation that all students at CCMS either qualify for the exam exemption, or take the final exam.

·         If you send your child to school during the time that he/she is exempt, he/she will be required to take the exams regardless of their exemption status. However, the final will not lower your child’s average.

·         Students who are exempt will not be counted “absent” on the day or days for which they are exempt.

·         If the student is required to take the final exam and misses the final exam, only a doctors notes will be accepted for an excused absence to make up the final exam.
