Germantown Hills School District 69 works to aid and support those families/students that are considered homeless in our district
    The definition of a person/student who is considered homeless according to the Federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act
        1. children who are sharing housing of others due to lack of housing, economic hardship, or similar reason
        2. children living in motels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to lack of alternative adequate accommodations
        3. children living in emergency or transitional centers (ex. dream center of peoria)
        4. Children abandoned in hospitals or awaiting foster care placement
        5.  Children who have a primary night time residency that is a public or private place not designated for or ordinarily used as regular sleeping accommodations for human beings
        6. Children and youth who are living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings,
        7. unaccompanied youth- a youth not living in the physical custody of a parent or guardian

The district may help provide:
    immediate enrollment in school
    parent education
    coordination of transportation
    school supplies
    proper clothing attire
free/reduced lunch
    school fees
