WELCOME to the Minecraft Club of White Pines Intermediate School. This shared wiki provides a place for members of the club to communicate about their experiences. It also allows the club to establish the shared norms (expected patterns of behavior) as we build our virtual worlds.

Our goal with this club is to offer enrolled students the opportunity to engage in safe and fun Minecraft play and exploration on a secure and safe server. Past members can find the server addresses in the Google Classroom page. If the server is Offline Please contact Ari 26265@ghaps.org.

If you are a club member, please sign in with your school Google account at the bottom of this home page.

Let the 2016 Minecraft Club begin! Click on it to enlarge.

Students must complete an application for the club. They must own a personal Minecraft PC account (Mojang account or Minecraft Premium Account) and should have a good introductory knowledge of the game and some prior experience playing it. You will need to make arrangements for a ride home when the club is dismissed from school at 5:15.

We will initially work on setting up the worlds on our server and allowing members to explore the opportunities unique to each world. Once we have been able to do so, we look forward to organizing fun and unique events on the server.

Game Types

  • Survival
  • Creative

So how about our expected behaviors in Minecraft?  So we are all on the same page, here are our in-club and in-game rules.

  • Be on time
  • Post your attendance
  • Make appropriate posts on our club blog
  • Follow teacher directions
  • Only log into our club server
  1. Absolutely no Griefing.
  2. Don't abuse privileges. (Please do not crash the creative server with Redstone)
  3. Don't give mods or admins reason to be upset with you.
  4. Play fair. Use common sense. For example: No stealing stuff.
  5. Be nice. No inappropriate chat in game. There is zero tolerance for cyber-bullying.
If you find someone breaking the Norms use this form to report them.

If you do not follow the rules you will be temporarily removed from the game until you are permitted to log back in. Further non-compliance will disallow access to the server for a period of time or dismissal from the club.

Server Updates

  • Server Modifications
    Per Jeff Chittenden
    • Looks like Essentials XMPP was causing some issues. I deactivated it.
    • I increased the player limit to 30 on both servers.
    • I enabled online-mode for the creative server. Having online-mode disabled could cause account authentication issues.
    • I updated Java from version 1.7 to version 1.8.
    • I increased the max allotted RAM on each server from 1 GB each to 4 GB each
    • I initiated what's called AggressiveHeap on Java for both servers. AggressiveHeap inspects the machine resources (size of memory and number of processors) and attempts to set various heap and memory parameters to be optimal for long-running, memory allocation-intensive jobs.
    • I set the processing priority for each server to highest.
    • I updated the MCC SmartBoard slides to correctly reflect the IP addresses and port numbers.
