Music & Computer Science

Nearly half of our CS group is also a member of the school orchestra and everyone in our group enjoys listening to music. Seeing how electronics and programming can be, and is, used to make and interpret music; we decided to try and do the same ourselves. Having tried out the "musical programming language", ChucK -developed by Stanford University students- Cem and Mert, already had some experience in the area and had written a basic Audio Visualizer in java last year. This year, we decided to further advance our efforts and assemble an electronic orchestra from scratch. Mert also wrote an AudioMeter, the "AudioMert". If all goes well, we might even be able to perform in a school concert with our electronic orchestra and visualizers this year.
